O'neill Construction have installed cables since our inception. The cables we install range from large armoured 4 core cables in duct work and internal trays to fibre optic cables.
Fibre optic and communications cable installation related with the highways work we have undertaken. The fibre optic is a 'critical' installation as the lengths are usually 2000 metres plus so must be completed within a single shift and are usually installed with a 20 pair copper cable.
The work often requires us to prove existing ducts by means of a mandrel and brush. Armoured cables are usually drawn into existing trenches and ducts but can be installed in previously installed tray work. We always use a water based lubricant for our installations and carry a wide range of different types of cable rollers.
